Meet our Board of Directors

Bunmi Oyinsan
Bunmi Oyinsan has an MA from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax Nova Scotia and a PhD from York University, Canada. She worked for over 15years in the non-profit sector with young people and women in Nigeria. She was responsible for co-coordinating, designing and executing various projects. She also wrote proposals and raised funding from international donors for major projects. Her work in the non-profit sector covered economic empowerment, capacity building, advocacy for children’s rights and women’s empowerment. Her background also includes work as a creative writer, television script writer and film producer and dramatist in Nigeria. She has published three novels, one book for young people (which was used to teach literature at the junior secondary levels in some Nigerian states), several short stories in anthologies and literary journals, edited a collection of short stories for the Association of Nigerian Authors. She has also written stage plays, radio plays, written and produced television dramas and serials.

Mojisola Olagbegi
An accomplished Entrepreneur, Information Technology (IT) Consultant and Project Management Professional with over 30 years industry experience in Africa and North America.
Early in her career, Moji worked as a network engineer, became the head of the IT department of a multinational construction firm and founded a start-up in IT education in Nigeria. In North America, she worked with Fortune 500 companies in Michigan, USA and Ontario Canada as an Infrastructure Architect, and IT Project Manager.
Dr. Mojisola Olateru-Olagbegi (Dr. MOO) has a B. Sc in electrical Engineering, M.Sc in electronics and Ph.D in Strategy Program and Project management. She also is a certified project Management Professional and an Agile practitioner . She has led and successfully implemented several projects including Enterprise-wide IT Infrastructure, Digital Transformation, Data Management, Software Development and Governance projects.
Dr. Olateru-Olagbegi is also a consultant to some Multilateral organisations and led several initiatives including World Bank, Rockefeller Foundation Digital Skills projects in Nigeria and the African Development bank Digital and Creative Skills initiative. She co-founded the WorkPlace Centre (TWPC) and The WorkPlace Youth Initiative (TWYI) and is currently the CEO of TWPC Tech. She has mentored several IT professionals and is committed to the development of Africa through technology, and equipping the African youth with relevant digital, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

Joke Jacobs (A.k.A Joke Silva)
Joke Jacobs (A.k.A Joke Silva), studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts and has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Lagos. She is a women and children’s rights activist, veteran actress, and proprietress of Lufodo Academy for Performing Arts. She was the first Managing Director/Studio Head of Malete Film Village a unit of Kwara State University from January 2013 to January 2020 Joke Silva went from Lufodo Group of companies where she was Managing Director. As Managing Director of the group, she green-lighted projects for stage, film, television, and radio, one of which was the cultural arm of Nigeria’s entry for the 2012 Olympics in London where Lufodo presented three theatrical plays, a collection of poetry, and a Film Festival at the Theatre Royal Stratford East a.k.a Nigerian House. Also green-lighted the cultural exchange to Paris in 2019 curating fashion poetry music visual arts and Film. She is currently Co-CEO Artistic of the Lufodo Group working out of the Prestigious Glover Memorial Hall which the company manages on behalf of Lagos State. Joke has been acting for over 40 years on television, film, radio, and theatre. She was the UN Goodwill Ambassador against Trafficking in Persons TIP; Chairperson of the board of the Center for Contemporary Arts, Lagos (CCA); Goodwill Ambassador for Teach for Nigeria, and Vice Chairman Aart of Life Foundation. She is the recipient of several awards. The AWDF has partnered with LAPA to host the African Women in Film and Joke is the President and founder of the Forum of Women in Film and Television(FWIFT) a chapter of Women in Film International (WIFTI)
